Apple Cider Vinegar Benefits

Apple cider vinegar is one of the healthiest all natural remedies. Now I know you might be thinking, there are a lot of these “all natural” remedies out there today, but the information is mixed. We have a joke in our house…when someone complains of any symptoms we say “just get some ACV.” While that is our inside joke, it is true there are many benefits to this ancient elixir. In this blog I will share the top 10 uses for ACV.

Research shows that apple cider vinegar aids in digestion, immune support and it can help in battling diabetes. It is full of nutrients such as probiotics, enzymes, magnesium, potassium and acetic acid. Apple cider vinegar aids in growing the good bacteria in your gut and killing the bad. It also has many skin benefits, and because it is natural there are no side effects. Now that’s a win win!

One way to use ACV is 1 tablespoon mixed with water, lemon juice and some honey 1-3 times a day. You will see a natural boost of energy, a healthier gut and healthy glowing skin.

10 Uses for Apple Cider Vinegar

  1. Supports the Overall Gut

Because of the enzymes, acetic acid, and probiotics that are found in apple cider vinegar, it has many properties that support the overall function of the gut. Acetic acid aids in killing candida (yeast) infections, it is a natural aid against UTIs, and other digestive issues.

2. Detox Your Body

Raw, organic and unfiltered apple cider vinegar is a natural detox for your liver. Your liver is incredibly important for many other parts of your body, so detoxing the liver a few times a year is a great idea. But taking ACV as a part of your lifestyle will help support your liver on a daily basis.

3. Non-Toxic Household Cleaner

Most cleaning supplies are full of harsh chemicals which are actually doing much more harm than good for your family. ACV can provide a healthy, safe, and cheap alternative. It absorbs odors and has antibacterial properties.

Simply mix 1 part ACV to 1 part water and put into a spray bottle. Use where needed and wipe of with a rag.

 4. Skin Care

When your body releases toxins those toxins find their way to exit through your skin and they come out in the form of acne or rashes. Well when you detox your body, your skin will improve. You can use ACV as a blemish spot application and to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Simply soak a wash cloth in ACV or dab it directly on a blemish.

5. Sunburn Relief

It is very healthy for us to get a good dose of Vitamin D everyday, but if you find yourself a little overexposed and dealing with a sunburn you can use ACV to neutralize the burn. Dilute it in water and pat it onto the skin or add some to a bath to ease the burn.

6. Weight Loss

Apple cider vinegar promotes weight loss by reducing sugar cravings and improving detoxification. A study from Journal of the American Dietetic Association found that vinegar consumption with a high carb meal resulted in participants eating 200-275 fewer calories throughout the rest of the day.

7. Relieves Bloating and Heartburn

Some of the main reasons for bloating, acid reflux and heartburn are a lack of enzymes and probiotics, and having an imbalance stomach pH. ACV has everything you need, simply take 1 tbsp. mixed with water 5 minutes before meals to relieve these symptoms.

8. Energy Boost

Apple cider vinegar has long been considered a natural health tonic for your body.  It has a powerful alkalizing effect on the body and it has been reported to improve stamina and energy.

9. Teeth Whitener

The pH from apple cider vinegar will remove stains from your teeth and naturally whiten them. Simply rub ACV on your teeth for 1 minute then rinse. Do this weekly and you will begin to see a difference in your smile.
